Fortresses of Northern capital. Tour № 2

on Saturdays (5 days / 4 nights)

Program of tour.

1^st day: Arrival to St-Petersburg. Transfer from the airport.Sightseeing tour of the city (3 hours) with visiting of Peter and Paul fortress that gave birth to the city. During this excursion, tourists will see the most interesting places of St-Petersburg (square ensembles, cathedrals and palaces). Walk excursion “Along Petrogradskaya side” (1 hour). Transfer to the hotel situated in the Leningrad Region near the Gulf of Finland. Accommodation at rooms of chosen category. Dinner at hotel.

2^nd day: Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing tour to Kronshtadt. During this trip tourists will know the history of the fortress “Kronshtadt” and of the town of the same name from the foundation till the Great Patriotic War. Return to St-Petersburg. Excursion to the Naval Museum of St-Petersburg where they will see the great number of ship models and history of development of Russian Navy from the foundation of St-Petersburg till nowadays. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner at hotel. 

3^rd day: Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing tour “Korela – the heart of Keksgolm” – coach trip to Priozersk (whole day). During this tour tourists will see many interesting sights along the way to Priozersk – real Karelian landscapes. Visiting of the ancient fortress “Korela” will acquaint them with the fortifications characteristic to the 14^th century (walls, bastions, towers) and also with history of the fortress that goes through centuries and reminds the victories or defeats of legendary and heroic warriors. Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel.

4^th day: Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing tour of Vyborg “Mysteries and legends of Old town” (whole day). This trip will acquaint with the strange and unpredictable history of Vyborg. The tour to Vyborg includes: coach excursion of the town, visiting of Vyborg fortress, walk-excursion in the old part of Vyborg, dinner at the café, excursion to the landscape park “Monrepos”. Return to the hotel. Dinner at hotel.

5^th day: Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing tour of Shlisselburg “Oreshek – Noteburgh – Shlisselburg”. This excursion includes: sightseeing tour of Shlisselburg (brief history of the town), view of the fortress “Shlisselburg” from the outside, visiting of the Museum of history of Shlisselburg. The museum will acquaint as with the history so with the construction of Ladogsky canals and bridges. Transfer to the airport of St-Petersburg. During the way – “Farewell to St-Petersburg” – brief coach trip over the centre of St-Petersburg.

Program of tour

1^st day: Arrival to St-Petersburg. Transfer from the airport. Sightseeing tour of the city (3 hours). During this first meeting with the so-named Northern Venice tourists will see the most famous and beautiful places of interest (Moscow gates, Anichkov palace, Ostrovsky square, Nevsky prospect, Isaac square, monument to Peter the Great, Vassilievsky island, Peter and Paul fortress etc). Walk excursion “Along Petrogradskaya side” (1 hour). Transfer to the hotel situated in the Leningrad Region near the Gulf of Finland. Accommodation at rooms of chosen category. Dinner at hotel.

2^nd day: Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to the State Russian Museum. Acquaintance with Russian art, elements of ancient Russian objects made of wood and other materials. Excursion to the Saviour on the Spilt Blood – the majestic cathedral and wonderful example of Russian mosaic art. Free time. Folk show at Nikholaevsky palace “Feel yourself Russian” (includes Russian snacks break).   

3^rd day: Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing tour “From Russian olden times to the empire of classicism”. This excursion represents a fascinating trip to the Russian village “Shuvalovka” – a new ethnographic centre with “real models” of Russian houses and Russian mode of life and an excursion to the manor “Znamenka” – palace and park ensemble of the middle of the 19^th century. This sightseeing tour will give the possibility to get acquainted with the history, traditions and customs of villages of Rus and of imperial Petersburg. Free time. Dinner at hotel.    

 4^th day: Breakfast at hotel. Sightseeing tour of Vyborg “Mysteries and legends of Old town” (whole day). This trip will acquaint with the strange and unpredictable history of Vyborg. 5^th day: Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to the Hermitage - the greatest museum of the city: observation of the palace interiors, Russian emperors’ gallery, huge arts collection (3 hours). Transfer to the airport of St-Petersburg.
