The Leningrad region. The basic historical and cultural centers are: Vyborg, Gatchina, Ivangorod, Koporje, Kronshtadt, Lodeynoe pole, Lomonosov (Oranienbaum), Luga, Pavlovsk, Petrodvoretz, Priozersk, Staraya Ladoga, Strelna, Tikhvin, Shlisselburg. For example, in Vyborg you can find European and Russian architectural features both the western city, and Russian. There are ancient houses of 16th or even 13th centuries that you could see walking along old streets of Vyborg. The main sights in Peterhoff, Pushkin (Tzarskoe selo), Lomonossov (Oranienbaum), Gatchina and Pavlovsk are fantastic palace and park ensembles where each palace is the unique museum with brilliant interiors, and which are very famous for their parks of 18th and 19th centuries. There are many fortresses in Leningrad region, such as Shlisselburg, Koporie, Kronshtadt, Staraya Ladoga, Vyborg. These fortresses have their particularities and many valuable archeological objects found at these regions.
